Brewery – Listermann
Beer – Pac
Style – West Coast IPA
ABV – 7%

West Coast IPA brewed with Citra, Simcoe, and Centennial.  Now let me welcome everybody to the wild, wild, west.

West Coast? East Coast?  How do you settle this new IPA debate?  You go back to the 90s when rap was having the same argument.  Listermann might not have solved any of these nagging IPA superiority questions, but when they released their dueling 4 packs of West and East coast IPAs, they certainly got the city’s attention.

Pac is the West Coast to Biggies East Coast.  The beer is packed full of Citra, Simcoe and Centennial hops, with a clean bright body and a light but bracing bitterness that reminds you what IPAs are supposed to be if you live on the West Coast.

My Thoughts on Listermann Pac

In the glass, this beer is bright, clear orange colored.  There is a small, foamy head on top.

Immediately you can smell the tropical hops coming off the top of the beer, and when you dig your nose into the glass you get a bit of the earthy, toasty, caramel graininess that holds it all together.

Taste is a powerful punch of hops, dank, pine and a lot of that tropical fruit flavor that you smelled from the get-go.  This beer is a fantastic homage to West Coast IPAs, and a great companion to Biggie.
