Rhinegeist is going to kick out a couple of cans this spring, specifically March.  As reported by Raging Hop on Facebook, they’re adding Knowledge (an Imperial IPA) and Bubbles (a Rose cider) to their year round lineup.  I can almost hear the excited screams from cider lovers across the city, already.  Yes, one of the new cans that is coming from Rhinegeist this spring is Bubbles, and I’ll get to that.  First, let’s talk about Knowledge!

Rhinegeist Knowledge

This Imperial IPA is new to the lineup at Rhinegeist, it’s the result of the experimental DIPA batches that you’ve all been drinking for a long time… giving your feedback along the way.  It’s 8.5% and brewed with 4lbs of hops per barrel of beer, using Simcoe, Chinook, Centennial and Columbus to deliver notes of “resinous pine, dank sap, pithy grapefruit, and ripe pineapple.”  At 98 IBUs, this little can is going to pack quite the punch for all you hop-heads.

Rhinegeist Bubbles

This is the third cider from Rhinegeist’s cider brand, called Cidergeist.  They use peach and cranberry juice to add a little sweetness, fruitiness, tartness and that signature pink hue that lets you know exactly what that person down the bar is sipping away at.

It’s bubbly(surprise) crisp, sweet and tasty.  I’ll never claim to be a “cider guy”, but I have to admit that this is not too bad, and judging by how much my friends all seem to go nuts over it, I can only assume that a lot of you agree that it’s going to be a welcome addition to their can lineup.
