You’ve probably seen it floating around on your various social media feeds already, but Covington’s Braxton Brewery (it seems like they’re always up to something down there… doesn’t it?) is prepping things to release their second holiday beer this year.  While this release is technically coming out of Braxton’s second location, their experimental playground dubbed ‘Braxton Labs’, when you sit it next to the previously released Claus it becomes a piece of what I can only hope is going to become a yearly tradition of Christmas themed releases from the brewery.

About Kringle

Once dubbed ‘Big Dog’s Sipper’ this is a recipe that’s been in the Rouse family for years – a holiday tradition for the family, and something meaningful that was shared between Evan and Greg back when the Garage on Braxton drive was full of brewing equipment and big dreams.

The beer is a Belgian Quad… a sipper if you will.  The complex blend of rich malt characteristics is said to bring a nice balance of dark fruit flavors like plums, raisins and prunes.  It’s also 10.4% ABV, which with the weather cooling down lately sounds like exactly what I need.

About The Release

If you venture down to Braxton Labs this weekend (Saturday, 10/16/17) you can snag one of these 500ml bottles for $6.99 (or only $24.99 for a four-pack). They’ll be available starting at 11am while supplies last, and they’ve set a limit at one four pack per person to make sure they last as long as possible (these things are limited, you know).

As usual (once I get caught up) you’ll find my tasting notes right here… so keep on the lookout for that too!
