The Cincinnati Art Museum’s ‘Undergrowth with Two Figures’ by Vincent Van Gogh is returning back to it’s home in Cincinnati, today.  To celebrate the long awaited return the museum turned back to Listermann brewing company to help them celebrate by creating a beer that features the painting on it’s label.

About The Van Gogh Beer

While this is still technically unnamed (I’ll explain that in just a second…) we know that the beer is going to be a NE style IPA that is packed with huge juicy orange, lemon and tropical fruits, mango and lychee flavors.

The brewery will be tapping the beer as well as selling 150 cases of 16 ounce four packs on Saturday July 21st in their taproom.

If you remember back in April, the brewery teamed up with the art museum to help promote the Terracotta Army exhibit that is currently on display.  Using that release they were able to raise over $1300, and they’re hoping to have similar success with this release.

If you aren’t able to make it out to Listermann for the release event, it will also be available at the Cincinnati Art Museum’s ‘Art After Dark:Beer Bash’ event on July 27th from 5-9pm.

The Name

Remember how I mentioned that this beer doesn’t have an official name yet?  That’s because the brewery and the art museum have been holding a social media contest to see who can come up with the best name for the beer. Contestants have been submitting their names on instagram via @ListermannBrewing and @CincyArtMuseum, with the winner being announced today.
