What Makes Bridgetown Brew Works special?

BBW wants to start their brewery without investors (aside from crowd funding), they want the brewery to become something that people living on the West side can be proud of, and call home. They are hoping that the brewery will offer drinkers a place to go that can offer a nod to Cincinnati’s rich brewing history, while still offering a uniqe west side flavor to their offerings.

WestwoodTradingSomething that you will hopefully find at the brewery in the future is a space they are calling the Westwood Brewing & Trading Company, a space available to local farmers and vendors to sell their goods.  You can expect to see everything from local fruits and vegetables, to meats and cheeses when the space opens.  I think this is something that will help cement the brewery into their community, providing a space that will help build a community, not just lie within one.

The Space

BBW-FloorplanStill under construction, the brewery is slated to be 2200 square feet with an additional  9800 square feet set aside for the “farmers market”.  The brewery is said to have a strong Cincinnati theme, along with sticking to their West side roots.

The Beers

The beers so far seem to be a nice selection of common styles, all with Cincinnati themes, a lager is on the list, something you don’t typically see with small brewery startups due to the increased time, and tank space required for them –

  • Oak Hills Lager
  • Hairpin IPA
  • Muddy Creek Wheat
  • Bridgetown Hefeweizen
  • Devil’s Backbone IPA

They also plan to produce their own line of sodas for those patrons who might be underage, or not a drinker, something I know a lot of families appreciate.
