Nut Brown is mahogany in color, entering with hints of maple, followed by a roasted hazelnut body, balancing a clean malty finish.

Mt Carmel Nut Brown was the first Mt. Carmel beer that I can remember tasting, back while I was in college.  In a lot of ways I suppose it could be seen as one of my “gateway beers” to craft beer, and still to this day whenever I find myself cracking one open it brings a smile to my face as I remember that veil being lifted and a whole new world being opened up to me.

It pours beautifully in the glass, Mahogany brown with a big thick tan head.  Aromas are sweet and nutty like a warm fall afternoon.

The taste of this beer brings a great full-bodied burst of well-rounded nuttiness.  It’s smooth, but big flavored.  There is nothing to shock the palate, and I find it hard to believe that there is anyone who wouldn’t find this enjoyable in the right situations.  It’s perfect for kicking pack on the porch with your feet up.

This is one that is worthy of revisiting from time to time, if not becoming a staple in your beer fridge year round – it’s delicious.
