With all the excitement this week surrounding Urban Artifact’s long anticipated opening it only seemed fitting that we have our Urban Artifact Brewcast this week. Mike sat down with brewers Brett and Josh to talk to them about the brewery’s amazing plan of only producing wild and sour beers, and we learned a bit about what that actually entails. Not all of us have ever spent any time actually propagating a yeast culture before.
As with all of our shows, we spent a good deal of time trying some beer, with this Brewcast giving us the chance to try three of the (out of 10) new beers that will be available at Urban Artifact’s grand opening on Friday. We tried:
- Finn – Berliner Pale Ale
- Harrow – Gose
- Kodiak – Tart Brown Ale
I’m not speaking for all of us, but I’m pretty sure that Finn was the overall favorite, with some really great fruity flavors developing as the beer warmed up.
We moved on from that to talk a little bit about their Mug Clubs and decided that we all wanted our Sovereign memberships to be gifted to us by our loved ones (I was quickly told that this wasn’t happening by Mrs. Gnome as soon as I got home and proposed the idea.)
To wrap up the show we talked about some of the new beer releases that are on the horizon… finished our growlers and called it a night.
All in all, another successful show – our new move to broadcasting on Periscope seems to be working well, so you can look forward to seeing a bit more of that in the future, along with some sound improvements. As far as future topics? Look for a show about Fibonacci Brewing to come in the near future! Thanks for listening, thanks for reading and a massive thanks for spreading the word!
