Road Trip! Mike and Tina drove out to Athens to talk with Weston Lombard about this years Ohio Brew Week…what they came back with was a great interview that helped create possibly the longest show that we have recorded to date. But… before we could dig into Brew Week, we of course had to taste.
From The Beer Fridge
We had a very big selection to choose from during our standard tasting segment:
- Currant Raspberry IPA from Wicked Weed
- Spider Silk from Devil’s Kettle
- Joon from MadTree (Read more about Joon here)
- The Mechanic from MadTree
- Saison du Poisson from Little Fish Brewing
This was a GREAT tasting, with some fun stuff from local breweries and distant alike, as well as the beer from Little Fish Brewing, which doesn’t open until this weekend. Good Stuff all around.
Asked And Answered
After dancing around the same Asked and Answered segment for the last few weeks, this week brought with it a new question for everyone. What’s your favorite non-ohio brewery that you have visited? Your answer could win you our first giveaway…an Ohio Brew Week prize pack!
So… let us know your answer! If you send it along on social media, be sure to tag it with #CBCqotw or you can even reply here in the comments.
Ohio Brew Week
We dug into the interview as quick as possible, knowing that it was going to be a long one, and were greeted by a discussion that ranged from the origin to the brew week, to the role that Cincinnati has played in it’s development. Its exciting to see that in a state that sits so highly in this new world of craft beer, our city is playing such a critical role in the development of that world.
We rounded out the show with some quick firing updates on what’s in store for the future of the show. We have some really exciting shows revolving coming up, including some more live, on location shows and an entire month dedicated to home brewing coming later this year… this show is proving itself in a big way, and we’re grateful to everyone who takes the time to listen and contribute!
Ohio Brew Week runs from July 10 through the 18th and features 45 breweries this year.
As always…you know how to listen… Live on Periscope, iTunes and Stitcher Radio – also…stay tuned on the live show front, we are looking into more ways for you to tune in on Monday nights to listen live, and take part in the show!
