Sausage Fest! Cincy Beer Brats.
This show was a slight departure from our normal shows… we were eating as much as we were drinking! We were joined “in studio” by Chef Antonio from Cincy Beer Brats who brought some of their delicious brats for us to try and chat about. We got to sample both the PsycHOPathy and Black Tart Brats.
We were all extremely pleased with the food… and learned a ton about how they create them, in small micro batches designed to pull out the best flavors from the beer.
We also learned about their newest foray into the world of breakfast, with breakfast sausage links being infused with ‘Not Your Father’s Root Beer’ – brunch could be getting exciting in the Gnome household very soon!

Although we were focusing on food this week…you know we were still drinking something…

Even if it wasn’t a “real” from the beer fridge segment, we still had a blast drinking the beer, and seeing how it plays along with the different brats. Great Stuff!
Back to the Hop Field!
We also had a few minutes to wrap up last weeks interview with Dave Volkman from Ohio Valley Hops, where Mike and Tina ventured out into the hop fields to learn a little more about how local hops are grown. This venture into the “other side” of beer production has my brain ticking quite a bit… this along with the recent news about Great Crescent’s use of local malt has some real potential.
So…the show was a blast, and could very well lead us into more beer and food centered shows… so stay tuned in the future for that!
