I don’t know if you’ve heard yet, but Listermann Brewing Company has been quietly releasing a couple NE IPAs in cans for the last few months.  The series has a heavy leaning towards cans with Hip Hop themes (you can’t really say all of them do anymore).

I don’t need to tell you that the series has been a big hit, and people are raving about the beers, trendy or not… these suckers are creating smiles all down the line of people that shows up for every release so far.

The Next Release

From here on out, it will be easy for you to keep track of the release dates, as they’re going to be on the first Saturday of every month – this means that we’ve got another one coming up in just a couple weeks, and it’s looking like it’s going to be a good one, the beers sound pretty damn tasty:

Sabotage – This is the next in line for the Hip Hop series (we’ll talk about that in just a minute…)  The beer is pretty limited… with only 55 cases being packaged.  The beer is a NE Style IPA with Lactose, Vanilla and Strawberries.  It sounds like a strawberry shortcake in a can to me – and that sounds amazing.

Babycat Meowface – Head Brewer Jared’s cat gets homage for this one.  It’s a NE IPA brewed with Mosaic, El Dorado, and Centennial hops with Savignon Blanc Grape Juice Added.   I’ll have tasting notes of it up eventually… but my assumption here is that it’s going to be nice and fruity.

Excited yet?  They’re giving you another reason that it might make sense to show up and stand in line for some beers – charity.

Partnering Up With Elementz

The brewery is partnering up with Elementz for not just this release, but all the hip-hop beers moving forward.

Elementz has a mission for Cincinnati’s inner-city youth.  They want to “be a catalyst of transformation for children in the urban core, enabling them to find their artistic voice, engage in community, learn to give back, and carve a path for a successful future”.

In short… the brewery wants their hip-hop beers to help give back to the community, especially those involved in hip hop here in Cincinnati.
