Fire Iron is Old West slang for your go-to hand gun.  This Midwest Fruit Tart is brewed with 1500 lbs of Pink Guava, 500lbs banana, 400lbs passion fruit, malted barley and flaked rice.

I’m not sure if Urban Artifact knew just how crazy this city was going to go over their Midwest Fruit Tarts when they first started releasing them, but much like the others before it, Fire Iron flew off the shelves around town when it was first released on 6/27/17.  Beer fans were scrambling from store to store to stock up on this tart, fruit smoothie of a beer until it couldn’t be found anymore.

Pink Guava, Banana and Passion Fruit make up the fruit base of this each having their own place in the flavor profile.  As you can expect… its pretty damn tasty.

My Thoughts On Urban Artifact Fire Iron

I had heard from some of my “beer friends” that the banana didn’t come out in this beer as much as they wanted it to – and I went into it expecting it to be a blast of passion fruit (usually passion fruit in beers dominates the other flavors to me) So I was pleasantly surprised to find all the flavors getting their own time in the spotlight.

In the glass, this pours just as you’d expect one of Urban’s Midwest Fruit Tarts to look – it’s hazy, thick looking with a thin head on top.  This one is a pinkish golden color in color.

The aromas are fruity (duh) with the passion fruit sitting right on top of a guava, pineapple base.

The taste is really awesome though.  At first you get the big kick of passion fruit, followed up by a sweet Guava, Pineapple, Melon-like middle, and the finish is all banana to me.  It really takes a nice trip from flavor to flavor, letting them all shine on their own in each swallow.  Fantastic.
