In an annual tradition that goes back to 2015, Fifty West and their good friends at Great Lakes are teaming up for a collaboration that will get barbecue fans lining up alongside beer fans for an evening of fun.

Not only are the breweries getting ready to tap a special collaborative brew, they’ll be doing it alongside some special taps from both breweries.  If that isn’t enough for you, they’re also planning a menu of BBQ creations straight out of each brewpub that will make your head spin.

The Food

Fifty West was a brewpub before it was ‘Cool’ to be one.  They opened as a brewpub because you had to do that here in Ohio to serve beer to your fans from the source.  When they opened their doors, though, 50 West didn’t want to just half-ass the idea of a brewpub, they wanted to do things the right way.  Prepping an incredible menu in a really well-done taproom atmosphere kicked the idea of a brewpub up a few notches here in Cincinnati.

This event is a great example of the dinners (and brunches) that have made Fifty West fans fall in love over and over with what they’re doing.  Your ticket to the Brew N’ Que is $40 and includes access to an all you can eat array of barbecue that includes a variety of different options including:

  • Wings
  • Beef Brisket
  • Pulled Pork
  • Pork Belly
  • Corn Pudding
  • Collard Greens
  • Cole Slaw
  • Sloppy Nancy (Vegetarian Option)
  • Mac N’ Cheese
  • Desserts (Brownies and Bread Pudding)

In addition to the food, your ticket will get you 8 beer tickets that can be redeemed for a variety of options at pouring stations (8oz Pours)

The Beer

The breweries are coming together to let loose on a lineup of beers that will have fans of either brewery (or both of them) hitting up as many taps with their 8 tickets as possible.  In addition, they brewed up a collaboration (but I’ll get to that in a minute)

Oliver Twisted

This year the breweries collaborated on a beer that they’re calling ‘Oliver Twisted’ a sweet tea brown ale.  They brewed the beer with what they’re saying is a “very traditional” English malt profile.  They go on to say that the beer has a subtle, nutty sweetness accompanied by a light touch of lemony hop character.  They followed the base beer up with a healthy addition of iced tea to make it the perfect partner to the piles upon piles of BBQ that will be served and eaten at the event.
