Cherry Chouffe Coming To Taste of Belgium!

I love local beer… you probably know that by now. But I can’t deny that Brasserie d’Achouffe is pretty near and dear to my heart as well. You know them… right? They’re the brewery with the little gnome as a logo? Yeah… well, that’s something that strikes a chord with me.

The brewery makes some incredible Belgian beers, and if you want to grab some of their Cherry Chouffe, Taste of Belgium is going to be the only place in not just Cincinnati, but in the region to snag some of it, and you know how much we beer geeks love our exclusivity. They’ll have it on tap this summer in OTR and at the Banks location.

To celebrate, the brewery and taste of Belgium are using the Summer Solstice (That’s Friday, June 21st) to host a ‘Tiny Toast’ at Taste of Belgium’s OTR location. They’ll have gnome hats and gnome-sized, tiny bier glasses from Brasserie d’Achouffe to make sure this goes off as authentically as possible! You’ll want to head down starting at 6pm for the official toast which will happen around 7. I think there are few ways to better showcase the quirky, fun nature of these guys, than with a tiny little toast on the longest day of the year… and I know you’ll agree with me once you’ve got your tiny hat on, and your itty bitty glass in your hand.

The beer itself isn’t one that you’ll want to skip past while it’s available. Packed with flavors of strawberry, almond, spices and sweet port, it’s full-bodied while still being sweet and delicate. With a satisfying finish, and a touch of slight bitterness – this might just be the perfect summer beer to pair up with an amazing meal at Taste of Belgium! If you can’t take my word for it – the three d’Achouffe gnomes, Marcel, Matthew and Malcolm gave their three reasons why you should indulge… and you can’t argue with gnomes:

  • Because a beard stained pink can be cute.
  • It will take you from ‘Cherry Chouffe’ To ‘Very Chouffe’ in just a few gulps.
  • Like you, it combines softness with a strong character.

Enjoy… and cheers!!!
